Exciting Adoption News!
We feel so incredibly blessed and thankful to announce that we have officially accepted the referral for two little girls in the DR Congo. After being in the process for a year and on the waiting list for nine months, the Lord has brought these little ones across our path and into our hearts. They are beautiful sisters, four-and-a-half and almost three years old (their birth dates will not be officially confirmed until later in the process). As I write this, our paperwork is en route for translation. Our dossier (the big packet of paperwork required by the Congo) will then be sent to the Congo where we will obtain a court date for the adoption on the DR Congo side. Of course, there are many other pieces of paper and dates for which we will be waiting. Really, the true waiting has just begun. We have been told to expect at least a nine month process until travel. But of course we are praying for less – and will do everything within our power to speed things along!
We only received one photo of each of the girls with the referral paperwork, but we were blessed to see some extra pictures of them and some video as well this past weekend from a family that just came back from the Congo with their newly adopted daughter (same agency/orphanage). What a special treat that was! We cannot publicly share photos of them right now, but if you want to see photos of them just email me.
We are treasuring those photos and praying lots!
Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!
